Bloggers Block

OK so I started the year off with great intentions and high hopes to blog more regularly and to be intentional. Well, needless to say, THAT hasn't happened. So here's my feeble attempt to re-emerge into my little blog world. To be completely honest this whole blog thing has been so BIG on my heart. I've been spending ALOT of time reading blogs- about everything from parenting to leadership to ministry- and get completely OVERWHELMED by them all. I know that God has called me to write... and the content of my life is PLENTY to write about... as a wife, mom, friend, follower of Christ, leader... person in general. I've struggled with the whole who do I think I am thinking people are ACTUALLY interested in what I have to say. Then I'm gently reminded by my Father that it doesn't matter... if HE has called me to do it. So many times I drag my feet.... and I've written tons of posts in my head. Right now I'm just trying to figure out what's the right avenue. I have things I want to write about being the mom of a teenager and about being a kids pastor and for parents and for women.... but this is the Lacefield Family Blog. So, for now, this will remain all about our family with some occasional Meganisms- the ramblings of my thoughts-the way i think 'em. I also have a New River Kids Blog that I am going to be more intentional about writing on for parents. From there... who knows where this will go! Only the good Lord knows! So if you read my blog, leave a comment. I promise to not be a silent blog reader anymore. Thanks and I love each one of you dearly. If you read this blog, you know me, and YOU are special to me. thanks for loving me!

Consistency....it's a choice

So I started this year with big hopes and ideas of being"consistent" in all areas of my life. My spiritual, physical, relationships, leadership.... I posted on Facebook the other day that this whole consistency thing isn't working out so well for me....but them I realized, like so many other things in our daily lives that it's a choince. A daily, moment by moment, mine and mine alone CHOICE. SO if I'm struggling with it, it's no ones fault but my own. And the truth is, I have reasons, good reasons to make that choice...they are...

Hebrews 12:1-3
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and
the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the
cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

So this is my prayer for 2010. May this perseverance be my strength so that I don't grow weary and lose heart!

Today I learned or was reminded...

My kids need me to be their biggest cheerleader!

Walking through the tough stuff with your kids makes walking through the good stuff so much sweeter.

It's our job to invest in our kids friends. The payoff- they have an adult cheering them on.

Prayer doesn't change things...it changes me.

Friends are a sweet reminder of HIS unconditional love.

What I've learned today...

A goal without a daily plan of action is just a wish.
Goals have to be specific, measurable, your own, have a timeline and written down
My goals are attainable if I just shut-up and do something daily to effect the change
